Kenya
I received a call from a woman who said she feared the worst for some puppies in the area.   She said she was driving on a country road and saw a very skinny, malnourished German Shepherd chained to an old rickety dog house and she thought she saw a tiny puppy by her side, and she wasn’t sure if it was dead or alive as it wasn’t moving.more...

Mario and Precious
Mario and Precious ended up at our rescue within weeks of each other.   They both were very young and came with serious issues.    Mario had been horribly abused as a young puppy by a cruel and ignorant man, and Precious had been dumped in the middle of winter and had serious health issues.   She fought pneumonia, frostbite and chronic upper respiratory infections for a very long time.   more...

Freckles

FRECKLES AND HER SIBLINGS -
LIVING WITH NO WATER, DEAD DOG CARCASSES, AND MOLDY FOOD
IN SMALL CAMPER TRAILER

This is Freckles and her brother.   There were 5 dogs living in a small camper trailer on rural property with no one attending to them.   When I got the call to help out with these guys by the owner’s daughter, we uncovered the five dogs and several carcasses of dogs n the trailers.   They were living in filthy conditions, no water and kibble dumped all over the floor, which most of it looked moldy and very old.

The man was suffering from some sort of senility and he had dreamed of “creating his own breed of dogs”!   These guys are mixes of Spaniel with Basset Hound.   Their coats and heads look like Spaniels, but they were long in body and short in stature.

These guys were not very social, but were more frightened than aggressive.   The dogs were vet checked and lived with us for a short time and we were able to make arrangements with a great humane society in Northern Michigan who took them on, had them all spayed and neutered, worked with them and were able to eventually adopt them all out to wonderful homes!
